A double coupling system, which couples metabolism of glucose and transacet
ylation, is a unique procedure for the production of acetic esters. In the
novel coupling system described in this article, acetyl coenzyme A (acetyl-
CoA) was supplied via metabolism of both glucose and exogenous saturated fa
