Abstract
A case of total reconstruction of the Achilles tendon is reported. A c ompound free musculocutaneous unit of fascia lata was used to supply t he absent tendon and soft tissues, achieving excellent cosmetic and fu nctional results, This technique is suggested as an alternative for co mbating infection, providing soft-tissue cover, and bridging the gap i n the tendon.
