OPERATOR CALCULATIONS IN LOOP QUANTUM-GRAVITY

In canonical quantum gravity we express various geometrical and physic al quantities as non-local operators based on loops. The action of the se operators leads to expressions which are evaluated with the aid of a specific loop calculus. The loop calculus is closely related to the recoupling theory of colored knots and links with trivalent vertices. We introduce the basic ingredients of the loop calculus and present fe w examples.
