Abstract
Ester exchange reaction of ribonucleosides (2) with oxyphosphorane (1) afforded spirooxyphosphoranes (3). After hydrolysis followed by acety lation, the labile spirooxyphosphoranes such as 3a were converted into stable nucleotide derivatives (4). The possible mechanism for the con version was also discussed.
