Focal intraperitoneal fat infarction

Focal intraperitoneal fat infarction, e.g. epiploic appendagitis and segmen tal omentum infarction, may mimic almost every acute abdominal condition. T he symptoms of this benign and self-limiting disease will disappear without treatment. The etiology, symptoms, diagnosis (mainly with ultrasound and C T scan) and course of the disease are being described.
