Abstract
A new, general, one-step method for the synthesis of fluorine-containi ng thiols is reported. It consists of the reduction of the correspondi ng sulfenyl chlorides by an excess of hydrogen sulfide in an autoclave at room temperature. The method is notable for the simplicity of exec ution, the easiness of isolation of the final products in individual s tate, the absence of by-products, and the high yields.
