Abstract
The pace of technological advances in the knowledge-intensive sectors such as computing, telecommunications and pharmaceuticals have brought about sig nificant transformations in the development of new products and services. I n the relatively less knowledge-intensive agro-processing sector such as su gar, advances have been incremental rather than disruptive. However, recent developments in the sugar sector suggests otherwise. This paper highlights these.
