Abstract
The lutropin receptor is a member of the superfamily of G protein-coupled r eceptors and, in humans, binds two closely related ligands, members of the heterodimer glycoprotein hormone family. As reviewed herein, comparative an alyses of natural, engineered, and computer-simulated mutations of the lutr opin receptor have provided considerable insight into the molecular basis o f receptor function.
