Abstract
A simple, direct route to purify, as-deposited, materials for the fabricati on of organic light emitting devices (OLEDs) is reported. In situ purificat ion of 8-tris-hydroxyquinoline aluminum (Alq(3)) can lead to devices with e lectroluminescence characteristics comparable to those of device., made wit h materials pre-purified via traditional separation processes such as recry stallization or vacuum sublimation.
