Abstract
The characterization of a microstrip-to-waveguide microwave transition is p erformed via the application of an efficient Finite Element Method/Hybrid M odal Expansion. The method requires the knowledge of a modal expansion at e ach junction port. This expansion is known in the waveguide and is numerica lly computed in the microstrip region via the Finite Element Method again.
