Abstract
This paper discusses the errors in determining the coordinates of a point s ource by the centroid method caused by the finiteness of the strobe and by discretization. The possible values of such errors and the conditions for m inimizing them are determined. These errors are compared with the errors ca used by noise. (C) 2001 The Optical Society of America.
