Abstract
Transesophageal echocardiography is a very useful technique in studyin g thoracic aorta diseases, particularly aortic dissection and aortic i ntramural hematoma. In this report, we describe a case of aortic intra mural hematoma after balloon angioplasty of a recoarctation. This case illustrates the importance of transesophageal echocardiography in the diagnosis and subsequent management of possible complications followi ng this technique.
