Abstract
Hematuria in childhood is observed in up to 2%. The underlying diseases are
quite different from adult patients. Hereditary disorders, glomerulonephri
tis or infections are frequent causes, malignancies are rare. Except from i
solated microhematuria a thorough diagnostic evaluation is mandatory to ens
ure early effective treatment.
