Abstract
An upper limit of the column density of the C-5 linear molecule in transluc ent interstellar clouds is estimated from high-resolution (R = 80 000) and very high signal-to-noise ratio (similar to 1000) echelle spectra. It is 10 (12) cm(-2) per E(B - V) = 1 (two orders of magnitude lower than that of C- 2).
