Abstract
We report the first results from a spherical grating monochromator for the linear undulator beamline (hv=26-300 eV) at a compact 700 MeV electron-stor age ring (HiSOR) at Hiroshima University. The Rydberg series of Ne (hv simi lar to 48eV) up to n=20 and the double excitation spectrum of He (hv simila r to 65eV) up to n=20+have been observed. The maximum energy resolving powe r (E/DeltaE) at hv similar to 65 eV is estimated to be >16,000 with the pho ton flux >10(10) photons/s. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reser ved.
