Abstract
This work describes a design study of vacuum ultraviolet and soft X-ray mon ochromators of the first beamline for the Siam Photon Source. Two monochrom ators using varied-line-spacing plane gratings and varied-line-spacing sphe rical gratings in the constant-deviation-angle configuration has been desig ned and their performance has been evaluated. The effects of the figure slo pe error on the resolving power of the monochromators have been studied. Th e performance of both monochromators is compared. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V.
