Abstract
A beamline was designed and constructed for powder diffraction at BL02B2 be nding magnet port of the SPring-8. In the beamline, high-energy X-rays up t o 40keV are usable by taking the advantage of the high-energy storage ring. Highly monochromatic and parallel X-ray beam is available by using a benda ble mirror followed by a double crystal monochromator. An adjustable inclin ed geometry of the monochromator, in which diffraction net-planes of crysta l is selective among Si 111, 311, and 511, covers a wide range of photon en ergy. An energy resolution can also be selected by the change of diffractio n net-plane. Si, Pt and Ni mirror surface can be selectively used to reject higher harmonies. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V.
