Abstract
2,3-Dihydroxyterephthalamides have been synthesized through a route that av oids the protection and deprotection of the phenol groups. The procedure al lows for symmetric and unsymmetric amide linkages. This synthetic sequence significantly decreases the time and cost of preparation and increases the overall yield of this class of metal chelators.
