Abstract
Numerous case reports have documented an enhanced hypoprothrombinemic effec t caused by an interaction between fluoroquinolones (most notably, ciproflo xacin) and warfarin sodium. Conflicting data exist regarding the clinical s ignificance of this interaction. Two patients who had elevated internationa l normalized ratios after receiving concurrent levofloxacin and warfarin so dium are described.
