Influence of Co-60 gamma -irradiation on the optical properties of vitreous
As2S3-GeS2 is studied. The long wave shift of the fundamental optical abso
rption edge is observed after radiation treatment with 2.2 MGy exposed clos
e. The initial position of this edge restores to some residual value during
the 2-3 months after gamma -irradiation. These results are analysed in ter
ms of maximum changes in the spectral dependences of optical transmission d
ifferences Delta tau before and after gamma -irradiation is well cis in ter
ms of the integral area S restricted by Delta tau (hv) curve and photon ene
rgy axis. Quantitative expressions for the compositional dependence of the
total radiation stimulated effect as well as its dynamic and static compone
nts were obtained using the ordered bonds network model.
