S. Desmyter et al., Preparation of monospecific polyclonal antibodies against Sambucus nigra lectin related protein, a glycosylated plant protein, PREP BIOC B, 31(3), 2001, pp. 209-216
A simple, but highly efficient, method was developed for the purification o
f monospecific antibodies against the plant glycoprotein Sambucus nigra lec
tin related protein. In a first step, the antiserum is purified by affinity
chromatography on a column with the immobilized antigen. To deplete the af
finity-purified antiserum from aspecific cross-reacting antibodies directed
against the glycan part of the glycoprotein, a second affinity chromatogra
phy on an unrelated plant glycoprotein, in casu the Robinia pseudoacacia ag
glutinin, is included.
