Abstract
La1-xSrxMnO3 (0 less than or equal tox less than or equal to0.8) perovskite -type oxides were synthesized by the combined EDTA-citrate complexing metho d and their catalytic activity for the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide w as investigated. Hydrogen peroxide decomposition was observed as a first-or der reaction on these catalysts. With the increase of Sr substitution, the catalytic activity increased accordingly. Through analysis of the kinetic r esults, the compensation effect was found for these perovskites and Mn4+ io ns were ascribed as the active sites of hydrogen peroxide decomposition.
