Research regarding the saft wood support degradation evaluation in old paintings, using preparation layers. II.

The paper deals with the data concerning the evolution of degradation in ti me for the lime-tree and plopar supports of the old paintings with preparat ion layers, under the influence of the environmental agents, put in evidenc e through IR and FTIR spectroscopy. Drawn up as a comparative study of the old wood with the new wood, on samples with variable age between 100 and 25 0 years, having the most frequently encountered forms of degradation and de terioration, the paper has multiple implications in the conservation-preser vation processes of the old easel paintings.
