Media management for audiovisual digital archiving

This paper describes an integrated solution for the management and migratio n of heterogeneous data, hierarchical storage management (HSM), an innovati ve software/hardware architecture developed specifically for the digital ar chiving of audiovisual mass content. i-DHSM (Dynamic Hierarchical Storage M anagement) is a highly scalable and configurable solution for a wide range of applications. It provides full performances on both symmetric multiproce ssor (SMP) and cluster systems.
