Jf. Meyers et al., ASSESSING THE CAPABILITY OF DOPPLER GLOBAL VELOCIMETRY TO MEASURE VORTICAL FLOW-FIELDS, Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. Part G, Journal of aerospace engineering, 208(G2), 1994, pp. 99-105
A new non-intrusive flow diagnostics instrumentation system, Doppler g
lobal velocimetry, is presented. The system is capable of making simul
taneous three-component velocity measurements within a selected measur
ement plane at video camera rates. These velocity images can provide t
he researcher with spatial and temporal information about the flow fie
ld in a global sense. The investigation of a vortical flow above a 75-
degrees delta wing comparing standard three-component fringe-type lase
r velocimetry measurements with Doppler global velocimetry measurement
s is presented.
