M. Badger, THE LIFE AND (MAINTENANCE) TIMES OF AN A300-TAILPLANE TRIM ACTUATOR -A SYSTEMS PERSPECTIVE, Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. Part G, Journal of aerospace engineering, 208(G2), 1994, pp. 107-113
In order to achieve the required level of system safety, it is often n
ecessary to specify scheduled single system check periods for duplicat
ed or triplicated systems, where failure of one system is neither indi
cated nor evident to the pilot or ground crew. This paper presents the
techniques used in the analysis of the A300 tailplane trim actuator s
ervice data, for the purpose of identifying a check period and overhau
l life, consistent with continued safe economic operation.
