Abstract
Acoustic emission analysis allows crack detection during dynamic metal form ing. Based on characteristics of mechanical waves and laboratory tests with dynamic load there is proposed an approach for pattern recognition in the frequency domain. The application in an industrial deep drawing process sho ws that noise suppression is necessary. With a special sensor arrangement t he useful signal can be discriminated from the noise signal. The applicatio n of an adaptive filter is discussed.
