Abstract
At the Fabrique de Fer de Maubeuge plant, an original device continuou sly measures the real surface temperature of thin soft steel sheets wh ile annealing before galvanization. The +/- 5 degrees C precision impr oves 3 times the performances of usual infrared pyrometry and allows a continuous process control. Another measurement carried out simultane ously in the IR range gives the emissivity which is a characteristic p arameter of the material.
