Ore mineral assemblages from the Maiskoe gold deposit are described. T
he deposit was discovered in 1991 on the Archean Dnieper-Bug Craton of
the Ukrainian Shield; it advantageously differs from other Ukrainian
gold deposits in that it belongs to the gold-quartz type with relative
ly coarse-grained, gold of high fineness standard. The paper reports c
hemical analyses of the ore and gangue minerals, including native gold
, silver, tellurium, calaverite, and an unidentified, possibly new, Au
-Te-Tl mineral, The sequence of assemblages is considered, along with
radiologic ages of some minerals, rocks, and geologic complexes that c
onstrain the age of the regional gold mineralization.
