Abstract
The paper presents the results of experimental studies of the moisture -content and temperature dependences of the complex dielectric constan t of soils in the microwave band. The effect of bound water on their d ielectric properties is considered for negative temperatures and for t ransition through 0 degrees C. It is shown that an empirical refractio n model can be used to describe the moisture-content dependence of the dielectric constant of soils in the negative-temperature area.
