Abstract
The paper considers the thermohydrodynamic characteristics of the Whit e Sea, based on year-round remote observations from NOAA satellites fr om 1992-1994. Eddy formations of meso- and synoptic scale, forming the temperature field on the sea surface, are identified. The evolution o f mushroom-shaped formations is detected and traced.
