Abstract
The transmission spectrum of self-similar multilayered structures exhibits sharp peaks within forbidden frequency bandgaps. Here, advantage is taken o f this property to design selective microwave filters. For this purpose sel f-similar multi-slab media with variable lacunarity (i.e. variable distribu tion of gap sizes) are inserted in a metallic waveguide.
