ON DISCRETE ZARISKI-DENSE SUBGROUPS OF ALGEBRAIC-GROUPS

We investigate under which conditions an algebraic group G defined ove r a locally compact field k admits a subgroup Gamma subset of G(k) whi ch is dense in the Zariski topology, but discrete in the topology indu ced by the locally compact topology on k. For non-solvable groups we p rovide a complete answer.
