Abstract
Doping nematic liquid crystals with non-racemic chiral compounds induces tw isted nematics (cholesteric phases). This phenomenon allows the detection v ia spectroscopic or non-spectroscopic methods of chiral compounds through t he detection (and eventually quantification) of the macroscopic induced cho lesteric twist.
