The Leontief input-output model has been applied for macro environmental an
alysis since 1970, and life cycle analysis has been used in industrial desi
gn over the last decade. This paper presents two extended environmental inp
ut-output models for life cycle analysis in pollutant abatement and towards
resource recycling. It is demonstrated that the suggested models are syste
matic tools that can be used for integrated environmental analysis and plan
ning.
