The magnetic properties of the compound HoTiGe have been studied by means o
f magnetization measurements at different temperatures and fields. The resu
lts show that the material displays an antiferro- to paramagnetic phase tra
nsition in low fields and a field-induced antiferro- to ferromagnetic trans
ition at higher field strengths. From the magnetization data, The magnetic
sublattice exchange coupling constants n(11) and n(12) have been determined
based on the two-sublattice model and the magnetic entropy change is calcu
lated.
