Binder-dependent permittivity build-up from powder samples of rutile has be
en studied using resin, naphthalene and paraffin wax as binders with rutile
powder, the permittivity build-up of the distributed inclusion material un
der the influence of the binders is seen to pass through a peak value at a
critical percentage of mixing of the binder, which is different for differe
nt binders. Two types of empirical relation governing the variation of perm
ittivity with fractional weight of the binders have been tried. Parameters
involved in only one type of formulation have been evaluated by the usual c
urve fitting using non-linear regression method'. Correlation of parameters
with the nature of the binders has also been attempted.
