Abstract
Least-squares, SUPG and Galerkin methods are compared for a model convectio n problem in the context of smooth and discontinuous solutions. Our experim ents focus on the impact of boundary condition implementation and grid orie ntation upon these methods, as well as their relative performance for both types of solutions.
