Situs inversus is a rare anomaly characterized by transposition of organs t
o the opposite side of the body. In this group of patients, cholelithiasis
is observed with a frequency similar to the normal population. Herein, we r
eport a patient with situs inversus totalis who underwent a successful lapa
roscopic cholecystectomy. Diagnostic pitfalls and technical details of the
operation are discussed in the context of the available literature.
