Local manganese moments at different lattice sites in intermetallic Mn comp
ounds can be derived by analysis of the Mn-55 nuclear magnetic resonance (N
MR) spectra. This was used for GdxY1-xMn6Ge6 pseudoternary compounds and Mn
5Si3C1.5 films. Careful NMR line shape analysis also yields anisotropic hyp
erfine and quadrupole interaction pointing to weak but non-negligible orbit
