Abstract
The magnetic behavior of solid solution Zn(1-)xMn(x)In(2)Te(4) with 0.1 les s than or equal to x less than or equal to 1.0 has been investigated in the temperature range between 1.8 and 300 K by means of AC susceptibility and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR). For x less than or equal to 0.5 the system shows no magnetic ordering down to the lowest temperature measured. Samples with x > 0.6 display a cusp in the zero-field-cooled susceptibility data at a temperature 2.7 < T-f < 3.8 K, depending on Mn contents. EPR dat a showed a shift of the resonance field H-R, together with line broadening with decreasing temperature were observed. The magnetic properties of this system are similar to those of the insulating spin glass with pure antiferr omagnetic interactions. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
