Abstract
X-ray absorption fine structure measurements and thermomagnetic: measuremen ts were performed in order to localise zirconium in Nd-Fe-B-based alloys. T hese experiments show that most of the introduced Zr (0.7-2 at%) is ordered as the ZrB2, structure which is well evidenced by annealing at 1000 degree sC. Zr addition also induces the formation of the Nd2Fe17 phase at the expe nse of the Nd2Fe14B phase. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserv ed.
