Structural and magnetic properties of nanocrystalline Fe2Co and (Fe2Co)(30)
Cu-70 alloys prepared by ball milling have been studied by X-ray, Mossbauer
and magnetization measurements. The X-ray and Mossbauer results of Fe2Co m
illed alloy indicate a formation of pure BCC phase with B-hf of 36 T. Sampl
es of (Fe2Co)(30)Cu-70 alloys were prepared either by milling the mixture o
f Fe2Co alloy with pure Cu powder (series I) or by milling the elemental po
wder mixture (series II). The X-ray and magnetization results of the final
material (series I and II) indicate the formation of alloy with T-C at abou
t (420 +/- 1) K. Heat treatment of samples I and II induces precipitation o
f single-domain particles in Cu matrix. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All
