Magnetic properties of Cu-Permalloy granular alloy

Magnetization measurements were performed on Cu80Fe4Ni16 melt-spun alloys t hermally treated at several temperatures up to 600 degreesC. The magnetizat ion curves were fitted using the sum of paramagnetic and ferromagnetic cont ributions, where the paramagnetic component is given by a Langevin function weighted by a lognormal moment distribution. The average moment of superpa ramagnetic clusters was determined, ranging from 31 to 11000 mu (B), corres ponding to average cluster sizes between 0.9 and 6.2 nm. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V.
