Abstract
Introduction of nonmagnetic HCP-CoCrRu layer between HCP-CoCr-alloy recordi ng layer and a HCP- or a BCC-underlayer improves the crystallographic quali ty of initial growth region. Magnetic properties are improved by realizing good hetero-epitaxy between the nonmagnetic and the magnetic HCP-layers. (C ) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
