Abstract
Magnetisation anisotropy in non-collinear ordered (0 0 1)FeCr multilayers h as been studied. It was found that the interplay between strong biquadratic exchange coupling and fourfold anisotropy causes change in magnetisation ' easy' and 'hard' axes during the magnetisation process. A simple phenomenol ogical approach for extracting anisotropy and exchange parameters from magn etisation curves has been suggested. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rig hts reserved.
