Abstract
The magnetoresistance of an Fe-Ni wire in the presence of a local magnetic field was investigated. The local magnetic field is produced on the Fe-Ni w ire by the electric current flowing in a crossing Cu wire. The magnetizatio n reversal of Fe-Ni wire can be controlled by adjusting the strength and se nse of the local field. The magnetoresistance is discussed from the viewpoi nt of the anisotropic magnetoresistance (AMR) effect. (C) 2001 Elsevier Sci ence BY. All rights reserved.
