Abstract
An unusual decrease of Faraday rotation at high temperatures observed in a Ru4+-substituted magnetic garnet at around 2.8 eV is qualitatively explaine d by a model based on a thermally induced Faraday rotation from the first e xcited state of nonmagnetic Ru4+ ions in magnetic garnets.
