Abstract
In nonlinear optical spectroscopy, the self-action of an intense light beam has an effect on the optical constants of a medium, which can be described in terms of a meromorphic function as defined in complex analysis. Here th e dispersion theory of meromorphic optical constants is considered and gene ral expressions for dispersion relations and sum rules are derived for mero morphic optical constants.
