Abstract
A hierarchy of hydrodynamic and quasi-hydrodynamic models for semiconductor s and plasmas is introduced. The various model equations are obtained from the transient Euler-Poisson system in the zero-electron-mass limit, the zer o-relaxation-time limit and the zero-Debye-length limit. Some results of th e rigorous justification of these limits are presented.
